The Society AGM and end of season Grading

The AGM, which is programmed for May, will now be held as soon as is reasonably practical in the new season. This is likely to be in September. Our Secretary will shortly be circulating details of Committee posts which are due for election. He will also include any nominees already put forward and will be asking for any interest, for any other members, in any of the positions.

The end of season Grading Meeting will be postponed until we are able to begin meeting, once again. The committee deemed this meeting to be too important to carry out by e mail and so will be done as soon as possible. Please be patient in awaiting potential re-gradings.

The cancellations include our Society monthly meetings, training sessions and Committee meetings.

If you have any queries about the current situation, please do not hesitate to contact any member of the Committee.

LSRUR Annual Dinner cancelled

We have had to take the decision to cancel our Annual Dinner, due to take place at Tigers on the 24th April. All monies paid so far will shortly be refunded by the Treasurer.

RFU suspends all rugby

Following government advice today, the Rugby Football Union (RFU) will suspend all rugby activity in England, at both professional and community level, including club training, league and cup matches plus rugby education courses from 17 March until 14 April subject to continued review.

The decision has been taken following government advice in the interests of players, coaches, referees, volunteers, supporters and the wider rugby union community.

Where possible, players at all levels are encouraged to maintain their own personal fitness and keep active during this time, while following government guidelines about safe distance and safe exercise environments.

The RFU will continue to review and monitor government advice and will provide detailed updates on the impact to the season in the coming weeks.

Roger Woolley, LSRUR Quartermaster

Roger Woolley receiving an engraved tankard from LSRUR President, Kerrel Wills, at the recent members meeting.

Roger has recently stepped down from the role of LSRUR Quartermaster, after almost 40 years service; a quite remarkable feat.

Well done Roger and we hope that you can now enjoy meetings, without having to carry large bags of kit around; a huge thank you for all those years service, from all members of LSRUR.
